Warrington Selected as Centre of Excellence for UK Base

RWE NUKEM Limited provides comprehensive support to the nuclear industry as well as to governments and regulators both in the UK and abroad. RWE NUKEM is part of the international RWE NUKEM Group, which has its headquarters in Alzenau in Germany. The Group is part of the German multi utility provider RWE AG which also owns Thames Water and Npower.

RWE NUKEM first started trading in 1987 as WasteChem. The small group of staff of around 25 were located in first floor offices above a shopping centre in Bramhall, South Manchester.

As more staff joined, additional space was leased in the same building and in a nearby industrial estate. Staff numbers continued to increase and with the pressing need to combine all staff at one location, a review took place in 1995 to find suitable accommodation. More importantly, the location needed to be able to offer better access to relevant North West companies, the motorway network and Manchester airport.
