A global sportswear manufacturer who make trainers, running spikes and apparel worn by sporting champions, chose Warrington for their UK sales, distribution, finance and marketing office in Westbrook, Warrington more than 10 years ago. It has proved to be a winning combination.

ASICS, who were founded in Japan in 1949, moved their UK marketing arm to Warrington in 1993 and now employ 45 staff there.

ASICS, which stands for Anima Sana In Corpore Sano, a Latin phrase that expresses the ancient ideal of a 'sound mind in a sound body', also provides tennis, netball, cricket, badminton, squash and rugby products and are the fifth largest brand in the sportswear market worldwide.

Ryoji Sekito, Managing Director, said:

"We chose Warrington because of the communication links and the proximity of several key retailers and distribution. Employees are pleased with the geographical location.
